2007 IEC National SPARK Award: Superior Achievement

Associated Professional Awards

The individual achievements of the 'creme of the crop' in the construction industry are given special distinction through the annual Associated Professional Awards by the Home Builders Association of Metropolitan Harrisburg (HBA). The Associated Professional Awards program is a nationally recognized program administered at the local level to celebrate and recognize the top performers in each construction market. The 2007 Associated Professional Awards will be presented in April of 2008.

The following CM Squared, Inc. team members have been presented with Associated Professional Awards of distinction:

Best Customer Service from the Field 2004 Award Foreman Franklin J. Weyer 2004 Best Customer Service from the Field - Franklin J. Weyer
Although we were all pleased, we were not surprised when Frank was selected as the best of the best in Customer Service. Our clients have specifically named Frank many times as a model in the fine art of service, as have the judges: "Mr. Weyer runs his crew effeciently and has a high level of craftsmanship. More notably, he sees that the little details are attended to with perfection." Frank has been 'accused' of being a 'southern gentleman' although he has lived most of his life in the mid-state and has no southern drawl. His genuine and frequent use of terms such as "sir" and "ma'am" set him apart as someone "who simply can not be from here."

Best Project Manager 2003 Award Project Manager Craig G. Malesic, LC 2003 Best Project Manager - Craig G. Malesic, LC
It was a moment of great joy and true happiness when Craig was revered by the building industry as the best amongst them. As the "Go To Guy" for any production issue in the company, Craig's list of responsibilities and daily tasks can be daunting to the casual observer. The judges heralded Craig as "exemplifying the qualities of a Project Manager through: exceptional communications when dealing with clients and vendors, overseeing estimating, and inventory control." They also made a special point of noting his lifetime achievements and continuing educational requirement as a Lighting Certified (LC) designer and a Master Electrician.

Best Craftsman 2003 Award Senior Foreman Steven T. Brown 2003 Best Craftsman / Subcontractor - Steven T. Brown
We are particularly proud of Steve, Senior Foreman and Licensed Journeyman Electrician, for his tireless and ever-enthusiastic service to our clients. He was presented with the Best Craftsman / Subcontractor award for "initiative, skill, and professionalism" where he competed against craftsman & tradesman throughout the industry, including: masons, roofers, carpenters, interior designers, plumbers, other electricians, etc. The judges comments included: "Steven Brown possesses an exceptional client relations focus, outstanding organizational abilities, and strong management skills."

Pyramid Awards

Pyramid Award Each year the Home Builders Association of Metropolitan Harrisburg (HBA) applauds a selective group of its member companies for outstanding achievement through its highly coveted Pyramid Awards. The Pyramid Awards, a nationally recognized program administered at the local level, were created to bring recognition to the best and the brightest companies that the housing industry has to offer in building, remodeling, and sales & marketing. The 2007 Pyramid Awards will be presented in April of 2008.

Over the years, CM Squared, Inc. has received the following Pyramid Awards:

2004 Pyramid Award: Best Radio Advertising
Writing and producing "The Knack" was certainly the most fun we have ever had in advertising. This comical 'Dudley Do-Right and Edith Bunker meets CM Squared' has been gathering smiles and cataloging belly laughs from the first day it aired.

2003 Pyramid Award: Best Print Ad
'Best Print Ad' for 2003 was the most competitive category with 16 entries from Central PA's top builders, remodelers, craftsmen, and suppliers. Considering this, CM Squared, Inc. was overwhelmed when recognized as "exceeding the criteria for concept, layout, overall design, execution as it relates to the specified target market, and qualified traffic" for our full-page, four-color 'Night Visions' ad which appeared in Susquehanna Style magazine and is prominently displayed in large format in our Trade Show Booth.

2003 Pyramid Award: Best Signage Program
"CM Squared's project sign features unique elements that set it apart from common 'run-of-the-mill' signs. They are unique, cheerful, and eye-catching," according to the judges. The brilliance & originality of our signs spurred the Dee Sign Company, the largest signmaker in the country, to feature our signs on the front of their Builders & Remodelers 2003 catalog with a distribution of over 100,000.

2002 Pyramid Award: Best Web Site
"With no close competitors," we were proud to accept the Pyramid Award in 2002 for this web site. The judges specifically noted "the ease of use, simple navigation from all pages, and up-to-date News & Events."

2001 Pyramid Award: Best Brochure
One of the most sought after and highly competitive awards, 'Best Brochure' is often the category with the most entries. Judging is based on many of the same qualities we strive to perfect in our illumination designs: concept, design, layout, overall presentation, copy-writing, and quality.

2001 Pyramid Award: Best Radio Advertising
"Darkness Can Sometimes be Frightening..." was recognized as a creative and unique advertisement with a "novel concept" specifically geared to solving the problems of the target market. The ad can be heard on WHP 580 AM Talk Radio.

2000 Pyramid Award: Best Outdoor Living - Under $50,000
Our winning entry created a new living area consisting of a sunroom, hot tub deck, and BBQ deck. The deck and surrounding trees were softly illuminated to set a calming mood produced by the changing shadows from the branches and leaves.

2000 Pyramid Award: Best Special Promotion
We were honored for our flair for the dramatic and the unique with a design that "went outside the lines." The unusual eye-catching design of our mini-van (christened MiniSam) continues to be recognized by many as the best in the Capital Region.

2000 Pyramid Award: Best One Page Mailer / Flyer
Our postcard which proclaimed "It's a Boy: MiniSam," was recognized for originality that "exceeds the judging criteria." Conceptualized, designed, and created totally in-house, the card used the common practice of sending out birth announcements to let our clients, friends, and family know we had grown.

1999 Pyramid Award: Best Print Ad - Black & White
Our "Is Your Life Hectic?" newspaper advertisement was a resounding success as it touched a part of us the fast paced world had left behind, namely serenity and relaxation.

1999 Pyramid Award: Best Special Promotion
We were awarded our first Pyramid for Sam, applauded as "virtually a traveling billboard that passers-by can't help but notice." 'Sam' is our 16 foot GMC Box Truck often found on the roads of Central PA or at the jobs of our clients. The name originated from pronouncing the "CM" in CM Squared, Inc. very fast.

Best New Exhibitor Award

The York County Chamber of Commerce presented CM Squared, Inc. with its 2nd place award for Best New Exhibitor at Expo 2002 on Tuesday, April 10th. The Chamber awards recognize the best businesses, as reflected in the design, uniqueness, and craftsmanship of their trade show booth.
