CM Squared, Inc. has a lot for which to be thankful.
The founders grew up in the capital area and that community enveloped and nurtured them. Someone was always available for a kind word of advice, a stern reprimand, or for a well-deserved accolade. They learned to give back to others from others giving to them. Each of the two brothers adopted this as their personal philosophy and incorporated their strong sense of community into the company's vision.
Today, we are proud to give back to that very same community.
After all, Central PA is not just a region or a place to live; it is Home. Our employees participate in various local activities by participating in a CM Squared service project or by helping through their church, children's school, or favorite organization. In spite of our busy schedules, everyone at CM Squared, Inc. finds time to volunteer - it's who we are and what we're all about.
Education of our youth is an investment in the future.
CM Squared, Inc. has been a key player in the growth of the IEC Apprenticeship Program. The Central PA Chapter of the Independent Electrical Contractors (IEC), in conjunction with Harrisburg Area Community College (HACC) trains over 100 Electrical Apprentices each year through this State and Federally certified program. CM Squared employees not only participate in this training opportunity, but also serve on committees, as instructors, organizers, and leaders for this important workforce development endeavor for the future of the construction industry.
Everyone can use a helping hand.
Many of our employees are deeply involved with the community and regularly contribute time and money to: Habitat for Humanity, the Central Pennsylvania Food Bank, the Humane Society, Holy Name of Jesus School, and the Central Dauphin School District.
Our most rewarding Community Service Project recently was in providing some small assistance to help pay some of the medical bills of a brave, young gentleman named Kevin Grab. When Kevin was a 13 year old 7th grader at Central Dauphin Jr. High School he was hit by a box truck during a Boy Scouting Event and flew 62’ in the air. He was flown by helicopter to Hershey Medical Center and remained there for seven weeks. Kevin was released from intensive care and remained in a ‘partially awake’ coma. He is improving slowly. The Grab family consists of 7 children.
Additionally, in partnership with the Home Builders Association of Metropolitan Harrisburg, the company was a very active participant in the collection of donations for residents of the Shalom House, a shelter for battered women and their children in Harrisburg. Both Fox News Affiliate Channel 43 and CBS Affiliate WHP Channel 21 covered the story. Our President and CEO, Christian D. Malesic, and Parts Runner, W. Robert Malesic, enjoyed their roles as "Santa's Helpers" by delivering the gifts to an elated group of needy mothers for the third year in a row just in time for Christmas 2007.
